The conference was organized together
with the Institute of the Political Education and Edward Frey Foundation (Netherlands)
with the European Association on assistance of transfrontier cooperation (EU).
In the conference took part the People´s Deputies of Ukraine, representatives of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, local power bodies, public organizations, deputies of regional councils, leading experts from Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova.
In the course of the sitting the participants discussed the practical and theoretical issues on implementation of the state actions on support of transfrontier cooperation and also beast practices of implemented projects.
In particular the issues on Ukrainian participation in international documents on transfrontier cooperation, legislative perspectives of transfrontier cooperation, and new finance instruments of its development were discussed.
The Chairman of the Committee on European Integration, Borys Tarasiuk declared that the issue on transfrontier cooperation is essential as it improves the development of trade and warm neighbour relations between the states, is aimed at the liquidation of restrictions regarding the people traveling and facilitates living conditions of frontiersmen.
Serhii Shevchuk, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on European Integration pointed out the attention on the fact that "frontier is a considerable market factor that is not to be neglected."
The Participants of the meeting emphasised the fact in the issue of transfrontier cooperation not only legislative provision is of great importance but its implementation problem as well.
The conference participants scrutinized the issue regarding the implementation of the state program on transfrontier cooperation, finance instruments, practice of implementation of planned projects etc.
